This Listworthy piece is brought to you by our associates at Glassdoor.com. The article helps us make the connection between our college/university and the job or career that will hopefully follow. So many of us are caught up in the career that comes from college – while it doesn’t always work out that way, for those students who are really dialed in and know what they want to pursue, this insightful list should shed some light on where the dollars are going in the current economy. This list will provide the title of the career, in ranked order, along with the median starting salary for said career.
One thing I really want you to walk away with is this: You can go to many different colleges and universities, both public and private, and experience great success! The bottom line is that some schools might be slightly better at preparing you than others (and that has little to do with rank), but ultimately, YOU will make YOU successful, not the undergraduate institution you attend. Furthermore, it’s really the graduate school (if needed) that spells out where you are likely to fit in the financial puzzle – not where you get your BA, BS, etc. degree.
